When you purchase a property with a mortgage, the mortgage lender will undertake a valuation of the property. This is to ensure that the property value is sufficient to repay and debts you have to the lender should you fail to make your repayments and the lender is forced to repossess the property.
The valuation contains very little detail as to the actual physical state of the property. For a more detailed report you will need to contact a surveyor. There are thousands of surveyors out there for you to choose from, however we are able to offer some recommendations to you.
